Established in 1965, UNICON Japan specializes in the production of aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Formerly known as Sanshindenshi Co., Ltd., it is a subsidiary of Nichigas Development Co., Ltd. The company's products are primarily sold to major companies in Japan and global markets in Europe, America, and Asia. These products are widely used in military and defense industries, as well as in sectors such as maritime, automotive, automation, communication, computers, and consumer electronics. UNICON capacitors are particularly renowned for their applications in the audio industry.


UNICON Japan currently boasts the world's largest production scale for Axial Lead electrolytic capacitors and is the only factory with fully automated production lines. Moreover, the company leads the global industry in the production technology and product specifications of conductive polymer solid electrolytic capacitors.

昭和40年10月　 1965  Oct.

Established as SANSHINDENSHI Co. Ltd. with the capital of 700,000 yen.

昭和42年2月　1967 Feb.

Establishied NISHIJYO Factory at Nagano Pref.

昭和43年3月　1968 Mar.

Increased the capital to 2,000,000 yen.

昭和47年2月　1971 Feb.

Established MIHARU Factory at Fukushima Pref.

昭和48年2月　1972 Feb.

Increased the capital to 20,000,000 yen.

昭和53年12月　1978 Dec.

Established Taiwan UNICON with the capital of 60,000,000 yen.

昭和54年12月　1979 Dec.

Increased the capital to 40,000,000 yen.

昭和55年9月　1980 Sep.

Separated sales operation and established UINCON Corporation.

昭和57年11月　1982 Nov.

Became a subsidiary of Nichigas Corporation, a company listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

昭和58年8月　1983 Aug.

Changed the corporation name to UNICON Co., Ltd.

昭和61年8月　1986 Aug.

Combined Nishijyo Factory to Miharu Factory.

平成元年6月　1989 Jun. 

Restructure Taiwan's Unicon and establish a new production and sales cooperation and strategic alliance business model with Taiwan Zhimei.

平成9年4月　1998 Apr.

Unicon Co., Ltd. and Unicon Coporation were combined with Nichigas kaihatu and established Nichigas Electonics Division.

平成14年10月　2002 Oct.

Establishment of an electrolytic capacitor production factory and company sales base in Ningbo Free Trade Zone, China.

平成16年6月　2004 Jun.

The company was reorganized and the electronics division originally belonging to the Nichigas Group was independent and established as "UNIELECS Co. Ltd."

平成17年3月　2005 Mar.

Closed Ningbo factory in China and relocated to Yixing factory and expanded equipment and production capacity.

平成18年3月　2006 Mar.

Established UINCON branch and marketing base in Shenzhen, China.

平成21年5月　2009 May.

PA-CON launches new SMD plastic case/liquid electrolytic capacitor products and releases patented process.

2011

Cooperate with Changxing Chemical to develop conductive polymer materials.

平成23年3月　2011 Mar.

Announcement of 63V high-voltage products of conductive polymer solid electrolytic capacitors.

平成24年6月　2012 Jun.

Develop solid and liquid high-voltage capacitors and Snap-in 550v products for applications in new energy vehicles and photovoltaic industries.

平成26年2月　2014 Feb.

Cooperate with Taiwan Changxing Chemical Group to start the joint development of conductive polymer materials and the research and development of new products.

平成27年8月　2015 Aug.

Launch and sales of conductive polymer solid electrolytic capacitors with high voltage resistance of 160V.

令和2年10月　2019 Oct.

Expanded Taiwan factory equipment and increased production capacity.

令和4年8月　2022 Aug.

For network communication and server power products, we launch high-capacity, small-size conductive polymer capacitors.
